• POSTPONED _ SLTE VIII

    30 September - 2 October 2020

Due to the current situation that the world is experiencing and at this moment in particular Argentina, where the president of the nation has decreed a preventive and compulsory social isolation, uncertainties arise regarding the development of the VIII Latin American Tenstructures Symposium on the established date.
Anyway for now, we have decided to postpone the deadlines set, both for the student contest, the presentation of papers, and registration.
We recall that on our website you can find the rules of the contest, the guidelines for abstracts and papers and the inscriptions.
In the coming weeks we will be communicating more news.

The VIII Latin American Symposium of tensile structures aims to cover topics related to the design, project, environmental aspects, calculation, engineering, manufacture and specific assembly of the technology we are involved.

    Will be presented:

    • Main conferences by leading actors of this technology in the world, both professional and educational Presentations open to researchers, professionals, teachers and students
    • Introduction speeches from providers and developers of supplies and technology
    • Students contest to stimulate the teaching development
    • Workshops of design, calculation and manufacture's softwares
    • Meeting of the Latinamerican network of tensile structures

Other activities, such as visits to building site and construction, will also be organized!

  • POSTPONED - Textile Roofs 2020

    8 - 10 October 2020

    New date: 10th – 12th May 2021

This 25th Anniversary Edition of Textile Roofs again aims to facilitate an intense dialogue on emerging topics in the field of textile architecture and gather an international expert community, who is able to drive the progress: politicians, businessmen, scientists and industrial representatives.

25 years of Textile Roofs seems to be more than a reason to celebrate together the worldwidely longest lasting series of events, that was initiated by our friend and visionary Prof. Lothar Gründig in 1995.

We will make this edition a very special one, with a lot of funny stories, memories, with meeting the outstanding minds of the TR history, with amazing new developements and a lot of special aganda items.

  • STRUCTURAL MEMBRANES 2021

    13 - 15 September 2021

The tenth edition of the conference on Textile Composites and Inflatable Structures (STRUCTURAL MEMBRANES 2021) will be organised on 13-15 September 2021 at the premises of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in Germany. The previous conferences of these series were held in Barcelona (2003, 2007, 2011, 2015), Stuttgart (2005, 2009) and Munich (2013, 2017). The last edition of Structural Membranes took place in Barcelona on 7-10 October 2019, in conjunction with the conference commemorating the 60th anniversary of the IASS.

The objectives of Structural Membranes 2021 are to collect and disseminate state-of-the-art research and technology for design, analysis, construction and maintenance of textile and inflatable structures. The conference will address both the theoretical bases for structural analysis and the numerical algorithms necessary for efficient and robust computer implementation. A significant part of the conference will be devoted to discuss advances in new textile composites for applications in membrane and inflatable structures in the building and construction sectors, as well as in innovative design, construction and maintenance procedures.

Structural Membranes 2021 aims to be a forum for discussing recent progress and identifying future research directions in the field of textile composites and inflatable structures.

Structural Membranes 2021 will be supported by the IASS. It will also be a Thematic Conference of the European Community on Computational Methods in Applied Sciences (ECCOMAS) and a Special Interest Conference of the International Association for Computational Mechanics (IACM).
